From Woman's Day

A woman in Upstate New York is bringing the Easter Bunny to kids who may have missed the meet-and-greets at local malls due to corona-related restrictions. Ally Kielaszek, 31, is setting up video calls between her New Zealand white rabbit, Arnie, and kids who want to meet the Easter Bunny before the big day.

In the past, Ally and Arnie would "deliver" eggs via Instagram on Easter morning. This year, with all of the Corona-related restrictions and social distancing measures in place, she decided to take a different approach to spread holiday cheer.

"It dawned on me that this year most kids won't be able to meet the Easter Bunny so why not let them virtually meet him," Kielaszek told Woman's Day. "I've been looking for a way that I could give back in some form during this crazy time. Although its a small effort, it feels really good to bring some sunshine into kids lives at this time!"

Although she has only done a few video calls so far, her first virtual meet-and-greet was for a friend's class who loved asking all kinds of questions for the "Easter Bunny."

"They were asking questions abut what he eats, and if he good at hiding his eggs," Kielaszek said. "I would answer for him and they'd all giggle after." She's even been asked to pre-record meet-and-greets for kindergarten and preschool classrooms who haven't been able to do a lot of virtual meetings now that schools are closed. The popularity of it all made her wish she had thought of it sooner. Even the parents have become excited about setting up the opportunity to do this for their kids.

"I do wish I had thought of this sooner to allow more time."Kielaszek said. "We are definitely willing to do as many as we can comfortably fit into his schedule."

Even though Easter is only two days away, Kielaszek is more than available to set up additional Easter Bunny meet-and-greets with those interested, and is planning on continuing even after Easter ends. If you are hoping to set up your own meet-and-greet, you can head to Ally's Facebook page or her fiancé's where they are both taking requests via Facebook Messenger; a terrific way to truly come through for the kids this Easter.
