The following article contains discussion of sexual harassment allegations that some readers may find upsetting.

Kidulthood star Adam Deacon has claimed that Noel Clarke "sabotaged" his career.

Clarke is currently facing accusations of sexual harassment and bullying from 20 women, and following the claims, the Met Police confirmed that it received a report alleging sexual offences by a man over a period of time.

Clarke has strenuously denied any sexual misconduct or criminal wrongdoing.

Deacon – who worked alongside Clarke on the 2006 film and its 2008 sequel Adulthood, both of which were written by Clarke – has now posted a statement on Twitter voicing his support for Clarke's accusers and sharing his own story.

"I would like to start by saying that I stand by all the women who have spoken out and told of their harrowing experiences with Noel Clarke," it began.

"I wholeheartedly believe every single word and I hope that anyone who is yet to come forward with information will be listened to. I myself have been a victim of Noel Clarke for 15 years. My career was continually sabotaged and the gas lighting became so severe that it led to the complete breakdown of my mental health.

"As you will know I have spoken out regarding this man's sociopathic behaviour on multiple occasions but my claims were always dismissed."

The Dead Set actor continued: "People dealing with mental health may at times explain things differently but they should still be believed. I only wish that everyone had taken more notice of my words. His horrific abuse of power could have been stopped before it affected so many others.

"I am extremely thankful for all the support that I have been shown over the last few days. While recent events have served as a small vindication for me I am beyond saddened by the pain that so many people have had to endure at the hands of Noel Clarke."

Deacon concluded by announcing that he's ready for "a fresh start" and will pour all of his time and energy into acting.

In a previous statement, Clarke maintained his innocence and revealed that he is "seeking professional help".

"I vehemently deny any sexual misconduct or criminal wrongdoing," he said. "Recent reports however have made it clear to me that some of my actions have affected people in ways I did not intend or realise.

"To those individuals, I am deeply sorry. I will be seeking professional help to educate myself and change for the better."
