Kill Cliff FC’s Jason Jackson, Impa Kasanganay united on opposing teams at PFL vs. Bellator

Bellator welterweight champ “The Ass Kicking Machine” Jason Jackson of Kill Cliff FC in (South Florida) Deerfield Beach is friends and teammates with PFL light heavyweight champ Impa Kasanganay.

They will soon find themselves on opposite teams in a mega event on Saturday, Feb. 24 in Saudi Arabia. That won’t stop them from rooting for each other -- even if it that night’s adversaries won’t like it, especially Bellator middleweight champ Johnny Eblen, who will fight Kasanganay.

Jackson, Kasanganay and Eblen are part of a huge MMA card -- titled “PFL vs. Bellator: Champs” - on Saturday, Feb. 24 at the Kingdom Arena in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia via ESPN+ and DAZN. Cage ringing time starts at Noon EST.

PFL MMA purchased Bellator MMA in November, setting the stage for a super showdown between the two standout groups as the best of Bellator challenges the best of PFL in this mega event.

Jackson (17-4) will face former two-time PFL Champ “Bradda Boy” Ray Cooper III (25-9-1) of Pearl City, Hawaii. The 31-year-old Cooper replaces PFL Welterweight Champ Magomed Magomedkerimov, who pulled out because of injury.

Jackson, 33, was born in Spanish Town, Jamaica on October 30, 1990. At age 12, his family moved to South Florida, where he attended Miramar High School and Norland High School.

Growing up he was a fan of WWE, and he still is to this day. His nickname “Ass Kiicking Machine” emanates from a promo between The Rock, Hulk Hogan and Kane.

Jackson began training for mixed martial arts at age 19 with The Blackzilians in (South Florida) Boca Raton. The Blackzilians formed after some left American Top Team, also in South Florida, based in Coconut Creek.

Jackson competed for Blackzilians in a high-profile series “The Ultimate Fighter: American Top Team vs. Blackzilians.” He helped Blackzilians win that contest.

Blackzilians disbanded, and Combat Club in (South Florida) Lake Worth was born, under the direction of Henri Hooft. That later became Hard Knocks 365 (which sill exists) in Fort Lauderdale and then Sanford MMA and now Kill Cliff FC, one of the premiere MMA training centers in the world.

In January 2024, Jackson attended a WWE Friday Night SmackDown show on Fox from the Kaseya Center in Miami, seated ringside for all the action with fellow Kill Cliff FC and Bellator teammate Linton Vassell, the No.1 ranked Bellator heavyweight at age 40.

The 6-foot-4, 239-pound imposing and impressive fighter had some stare downs with WWE superstars as did Jackson who went face-to-face with WWE Superstar Austin Theory. BTW, Jackson had to hold Linton back a couple of times from stepping over the rail to confront some of the arrogant, cocky WWE heels.
