The Killers may release new music by end of 2016

Lead singer Brandon Flowers of US band The Killers

Brandon Flowers of The Killers said in a new interview that the band is in the early stages of writing a new album, with a possible release by the end of next year.

Speaking with NME, Flowers said The Killers are in the song-writing phase in their work on the new LP, and an early stage at that, saying that "in a perfect world" new music could come "at the end of 2016 maybe."

The band's previous album, "Battle Born," dropped in 2012, and Flowers has since put out the solo album "The Desired Effect."
