Killing Eve star Jodie Comer is set to make her Broadway debut next spring in Suzie Miller's one-woman show Prima Facie.

The announcement comes just two weeks before Comer's London run of the show, which also marked her West End debut, ends on June 18 at the Harold Pinter Theatre.

Comer plays Tessa, a criminal barrister who specialises in defending rapists, belittling their victims in court during cross-examination.

"It has been an absolute privilege to tell Tessa's story here in London over the past few weeks and to now have the opportunity to take Prima Facie to Broadway is a dream come true," Comer said in a statement.

The Free Guy actress also expressed her gratitude for the opportunity on social media, posting a teary selfie of the moment where she received the news the play would be transferring to Broadway.

"I am so honoured to play a part in the telling of this story and beyond thrilled that next week isn’t the end. It means so much to see and hear so many of your positive responses," she wrote on Instagram.

"Thank you to all of you who have supported the show and a special shout out to those who have travelled thousands of miles, now it’s our turn. I love you Tess, we’re going to BROADWAY!"

Prima Facie is directed by Justin Martin and features music composed by Rebecca Lucy Taylor, aka Self Esteem.

Comer recently landed her next movie role in apocalyptic thriller The End We Start From, adapted form the Megan Hunter novel of the same name.

After London is left submerged with flood water, Comer's character navigates motherhood as she and her newborn child try to find a way back home.

The film will be directed by BAFTA winner Mahalia Belo (The Long Song), with a script penned by Succession and Normal People writer Alice Birch.

Prima Facie continues at the Harold Pinter Theatre in London until June 18. The play will also screen as part of National Theatre Live in selected cinemas on July 21.

The production has partnered with the Schools Consent Project, which teaches sexual consent workshops for 11-18 year olds across the UK.
