Killingly rolls past Lyman Memorial in boys basketball: Top performances in Monday's games

The Killingly boys basketball team earned its second straight win with a victory over Lyman Memorial, while the Norwich Free Academy wrestling team earned five pins in a dual meet loss against New London.

Here are Monday's top performances.

Boys basketball

Thomas Dreibholz, Killingly: Senior forward scored a game-high 21 points to lead Killingly (9-4) past Lyman Memorial, 64-31.

Yianni Baribeau, Killingly: Senior forward posted a double-double with 18 points and 12 rebounds in Killingly’s win against Lyman Memorial (9-6).

Johnny Kazantzis, Killingly: Sophomore guard scored 14 points as Killingly topped Lyman Memorial, 64-31.

Gymnastics

Trinity Ambruso, Norwich Free Academy: Freshman placed first in vault (8.9), bars (9.1), beam (9.8), floor (tied 9.1) and the all-around (36.9), but the Wildcats fell to Stonington, 133.65 to 127.7.

Brenna Johnson, Plainfield: Panthers junior placed third in the all-around in  a meet with Killingly, Old Lyme and East Lyme.

Wrestling

Norwich Free Academy: Jackson Sorel (132), Dugan Marsh (138), Niam Wallace (145), Tom Brunelli (160) and Zaire Wallace (182) each earned pins in a dual match against New London, but the Wildcats fell short against the Whalers, 43-36.
