While Los Angeles didn’t receive the honor of hosting the 2026 World Cup Final, the City of Angels was confirmed to be the site of the U.S. men’s national team’s opening match by an iconic Angeleno.

Kim Kardashian made an appearance on FIFA’s official social media accounts alongside her son, Saint West, to break the news that SoFi Stadium will host the Stars and Stripes’ first match of the World Cup, which will contested by the United States men’s national team and another member of their eventual group on June 12, 2026.

All U.S. men’s matches will be played on the West Coast, ESPN said, with the other two group stage games taking place in Seattle and then back in L.A.

The opening match will be played at the Estadio Azteca in Mexico City on June 11.

The World Cup Final will be played at MetLife Stadium in East Rutherford, New Jersey – the home field of the New York Giants and the New York Jets.

Mexico and Canada, the co-hosts of the next World Cup, have five stadiums between them. Every other venue is in the U.S.
