Kim Kardashian West has tweeted her support for president-elect Joe Biden and vice president-elect Kamala Harris after their ticket was declared victorious over President Donald Trump.

The reality star tweeted a picture of Mr Biden and Ms Harris on Saturday with a heart emoji following the news that the Democratic Party ticket had earned over 270 Electoral College votes to win the election.

On Saturday morning, news outlets including the Associated Press, NBC, Fox News, and CNN called Pennsylvania for Mr Biden, which put him over the 270 votes needed to take the White House.

Ms Kardashian West also shared multiple posts from both Mr Biden and Ms Harris on Twitter and added multiple heart emojis to those posts.

Prior to these tweets, she remained relatively silent throughout the 2020 US election.

Her husband, rapper Kanye West, announced that he was running in the presidential race as a third party candidate in July 2020.

While running under the Birthday Party, Mr West failed to garner enough support to be on the ballot in most states. But he still earned more than 60,000 votes on Election Day.

He then conceded on Election Day after subpar results from the vote count but said he could be back in 2024.

“KANYE 2024,” the rapper wrote in a tweet.

Ms Kardashian West previously supported HIllary Clinton in 2016 when she ran against Mr Trump. After Mrs Clinton lost, the reality star worked with Mr Trump on prison reform, which included him offering clemency to Alice Johnson. She had been in jail for 21 years on a nonviolent drug offense before she was offered clemency and a full pardon from the president.

Despite previously working with the sitting president, Ms Kardashian West decided to express support in the new president-elect following the news.
