Kimberly Perry announces new single, EP, solo performance debut
Formerly a member of Grammy-winning, multi-platinum selling and four-time Billboard Country Airplay chart-topping 2010s era family trio The Band Perry, singer-songwriter Kimberly Perry now announces her solo return to mainstream country music via "If I Die Young, Pt. 2" and "BLOOM," a new single and forthcoming EP project.
Described as "a matured interpolation," "If I Die Young Pt. 2" will be released on May 5 and featured on her forthcoming BLOOM EP -- due for release on June 9.
The releases come as the artist announced her signing to RECORDS Nashville / Columbia Records as a solo artist on April 3, plus a global publishing deal with Warner Chappell Music and Nicolle Galyon's Songs & Daughters Publishing.
Perry is set to make her solo artist debut at Nashville's Grand Ole Opry on Sat., May 6, plus The Chevy Vibes Stage at CMA Fest on Sun., June 11.

About re-imagining her 7-times platinum-selling 2010 single "If I Die Young," Perry states via a press release that she "felt like the story wasn't finished."
Moreover, she adds that a sequel was needed to "[talk] about where my head is these days now that I've experienced so much life -- I'm having a baby, I'm married, I've moved to Nashville; I've seen all of these dreams come true since writing the original version."
To The Tennessean, she recalls a conversation after selling part of her catalog to AMR Songs' CEO Tamara Conniff, wherein the performer highlighted that after reflecting on "a creative journey that's taken so many twists and turns," she wanted to revisit her original solo write on ["If I Die Young"] and reflect the maturation of how she "felt melody and lyric at the core of [who she is] as a singer-songwriter" in the modern era.
As one-third of the superstar sibling trio The Band Perry, alongside her brothers Reid and Neil, Perry has amassed over two and a half million album sales and over two billion combined streams, in addition to winning Best Country Duo/Group Performance for "Gentle On My Mind" at the 57th GRAMMY Awards.
Jimmy Robbins produced her forthcoming solo EP. His credits in the past half-decade include co-writing Maren Morris' quintuple-platinum selling, 19-week Billboard Country sales chart-topping 2020 single "The Bones."
Perry penned the record alongside Robbins, Galyon, Jesse Frasure, Sasha Sloan, Casey Brown, and Parker Welling.
"BLOOM is a record I've been dreaming of making since I was a kid," Perry states in a statement. "It's been a really rewarding experience to think in a highly feminine way. It's really pulled together all of the threads of what I've always been drawn to musically and lyrically."
About the release, Galyon adds that she has "been a huge fan of Kimberly's from afar throughout her whole career" and that it's "compelling to work with a like-minded businesswoman and creatively fulfilling to dive into the writing process with such a veteran songwriter and artist."
Perry adds that she's "had such a wonderful time writing with old and new friends alike" and that she's "beyond thrilled for this exciting next chapter of [her] career."
