A 21-year-old El Paso woman died at a hospital after she and two men were wounded in a shooting outside a West Side bar last week, police officials said Tuesday.

Rosario "Rosie" Gonzalez was fatally wounded in a shooting in the early hours of Oct. 15 outside El Jaguar Restaurante Bar, a banda live music venue in the Fiesta Shopping Center at 5200 N. Mesa St. near Montecillo Boulevard, according to police and an obituary.

Gonzalez was the youngest of eight children and a caring daughter, sister and friend, stated her obituary. "Rosie was a kind and caring person, who gave the best hugs and always had time for all her nephews."

Detectives determined that the shooting occurred about 1:54 a.m. on Sunday, Oct. 15, after an argument between bar patrons led to a fight in the parking lot, police officials said.

Victor Manuel Gonzalez, 18, of El Paso, and Carlos Marin Jr., 17, of Santa Teresa, New Mexico, were also wounded in the shooting, police said.

When responding officers arrived, they found a man with a gunshot wound to the leg who was then taken to a hospital. Initially, police officials had said there was only one victim. Investigators later learned that the two other gunshot victims, including Rosario Gonzalez, had been rushed to a hospital before the arrival of emergency crews.

"We want to inform all our customers that the problem that occurred (on Oct. 15) outside our facilities was completely beyond our control," El Jaguar Restaurante Bar posted in Spanish on its Facebook page, explaining that the bloodshed occurred outside its establishment. The business remains open.

In the comments section, some commenters accused El Jaguar of trying to avoid responsibility amid allegations of serving alcohol to underage customers, which the bar denied.
