King Charles paid a royal remembrance to Queen Elizabeth II on the first U.K. Mother’s Day since her death.

The Royal Family’s official Twitter account shared throwback photos of him with his mother and Camilla, Queen Consort, with hers. Sunday was Mother’s Day in the United Kingdom, which regularly celebrates the holiday in March.

“To all mothers everywhere, and to those who may be missing their mums today, we are thinking of you and wishing you a special #MothersDay,” the tweet reads.

Queen Elizabeth died at age 96 on Sept. 8, ending her record-setting 70-year reign as the British monarch. A coronation for Charles, who was the eldest of the queen’s four children, is scheduled to take place May 6.

Princess Kate Middleton also celebrated Mother’s Day by sharing a pair of photos, including one showing her sitting in a tree with her three kids.

“Happy Mother’s Day from our family to yours,” read a tweet from the official account for Kate and Prince William.

William and Kate, who married in 2011, have two sons — 9-year-old Prince George and 4-year-old Prince Louis — and a 7-year-old daughter, Princess Charlotte.

William, 40, is the elder son of Charles. The king’s younger son, Prince Harry, has two children — 3-year-old Prince Archie and 1-year-old Lilibet — with wife Meghan Markle.

Harry, 38, and Meghan stepped down from their senior royal duties in 2020 and are raising their children in Southern California. Harry has been open about his strained relationship with his father and brother, which he chronicled in his January memoir, “Spare.”

Harry and Meghan haven’t publicly confirmed whether they’ll attend Charles’ coronation.
