King Charles welcomed with gun salute in Germany

STORY: Several gun batteries of the German army fired the shots at the apron at Berlin-Brandenburg airport.
The monarch and his wife arrived for a three day state visit to Germany on Wednesday afternoon. They will meet with German President Frank-Walter Steinmeier and Chancellor Olaf Scholz before Charles speaks to members of parliament on Thursday.
The royal couple will also meet representatives from a joint German-British military unit and visit eco-projects outside Berlin. On Friday, King Charles will visit a church in Hamburg that was destroyed by allied bombing in World War Two, and meet representatives of firms deploying green technology in the port.
