For King and Country, crawfish and ARTini painting: This weekend in Shreveport, Bossier

The third weekend in April is bringing a wide variety of events for everyone in the Shreveport-Bossier area. From painting parties to concerts to more crawfish boils, here's what's happening in Shreveport and Bossier City this weekend.

Friday, April 14

  • Destination: ARTini Glass Painting Party at BAC - Grab some friends for a night of painting at the Bossier Arts Council. Every year the local artists and community members are invited to come paint martini glasses to be given away during ARTini. This is a free event and students are welcome to attend but must be at least 12 years old. Light refreshments will be available, and all painting materials will be provided. This event will take place from 6 - 9 p.m. at 630 Barksdale Blvd. in Bossier City.

  • Latin Night at the Remington Hotel Ballroom and Rooftop - Learn how to salsa like the pros from 8 - 9 p.m. by Shreveport's Stephan Mackey and Sharon Frilot. Music will be provided by DJ Adrian with drink specials all night long. This is a free event that will be at 220 Travis St. in Shreveport.

  • For King + Country at the Brookshire Grocery Arena - The contemporary Christian band is bringing their "What Are We Waiting For" Tour Part II to Bossier City to promote the official album release concert experience. Limited tickets are still available to purchase at Ticketmaster.

Saturday, April 15

  • Bestea's Re-Grand Opening - Local boba spot Bestea is having a re-grand opening party that will kick off with breakfast that includes Black Bayou Coffee Roasters making an appearance with coffee samples and live music. At lunch there will be a ribbon cutting, local vendors and live music and the day will end with more vendors, mellow music and tea. The first 100 customers will receive free Bestea for a year! The party will go on from 9 a.m. - 9 p.m. at 3950 Youree Dr. Ste. 160 in Shreveport.

  • Bugs and Brews Festival at Louisiana Downs Casino & Racetrack - Come out to Bossier City's very first Crawfish Festival for a day of live music, a cornhole tournament and lots of local vendors to shop with. Not to mention all of the crawfish and beer you could want. Bring the whole family and friends to this event from 11 a.m. - 10 p.m. at 8000 E. Texas St. in Bossier City. Entry will cost $5 at the gate.

  • Lights, Camera, Auction! At Artspace - This year's theme encourages attendees to dress up as their favorite movie characters or movie stars. There will be a cocktail hour, dinner, fellowship, dancing, a silent auction and more. Proceeds from this event will be used to make improvements to the Cathedral of St. John Berchmans Catholic School to benefit its students. Tickets can be purchased at the SJB Cathedral School website. Artspace is located at 708 Texas St. in downtown Shreveport.

Sunday, April 16

  • Slow Food Crawfish Boil - From 3 - 6 p.m. there will be crawfish chefs from all around adding their special touches to their crawfish boils for you to try. Great Raft Brewing is the official beer sponsor of the event and will have an assortment from their beer portfolio available. General admission tickets are $40 each and can be purchased at the Slow Food North LA website. The event will take place at 4024 Maryland Ave. in Shreveport.
