King grad and former Texas A&M left-hander Dustin Saenz is having about as good of a start to his 2022 season as can be expected.

Saenz, who was drafted by the Phillies after the 2021 college season, has put together solid starting pitching credentials for the Fredericksburg Nationals, compiling a 2-1 record with a 3.38 earned-run average in 2022. He also has 50 strikeouts in 42.2 innings this season.

During two outings in May, Saenz gave up three runs as opponents hit .176 against him, and he has not allowed more than three runs in any outing this season.
