The Kings rested All-Stars De’Aaron Fox and Domantas Sabonis in Friday’s game against the Golden State Warriors, but they could be back in the lineup for the regular-season finale against the Denver Nuggets.

Malik Monk (lower left leg soreness) and Davion Mitchell (left knee soreness) are questionable for Sunday’s game against the Nuggets at Ball Arena in Denver. The rest of Sacramento’s regular rotation players are available, according to the injury report submitted Saturday.

The Nuggets (52-38) have clinched the No. 1 seed in the Western Conference. The Kings (48-32) are locked into the No. 3 seed with the playoffs set to begin next weekend.

Neither team has anything to gain Sunday, but the Kings might want to keep their core rotation players sharp with at least five days off before their first playoff game. They chose to rest Fox, Sabonis, Kevin Huerter against the Warriors, but all three are expected to be available against the Nuggets.

The Nuggets haven’t submitted an injury report for Sunday’s game because they played Saturday. Starters Jamal Murray, Kentavious Caldwell-Pope, Aaron Gordon, Michael Porter Jr. and Nikola Jokic all logged stints of 20-29 minutes in Saturday’s 118-114 loss to the Utah Jazz.

Iron man

Veteran forward Harrison Barnes is on the verge of playing all 82 regular-season games for the second time in his career. Barnes played all 82 for the Warriors in 2014-15. Eight years later, he has a chance to do it again for the Kings.

Barnes, 30, is averaging 15.0 points, 4.5 rebounds and 1.6 assists in his 11th NBA season. He is shooting 47.1% from the field and 36.7% from 3-point range.

The Nuggets are listing several players on their injury report for Sunday’s game against the Kings. Nikola Jokic (calf), Jamal Murray (thumb), Kentavious Caldwell-Pope (non-COVID illness), Aaron Gordon (shoulder) and Michael Porter Jr. (heel) are all considered questionable.
