The Kings might be without All-NBA center Domantas Sabonis when they face rookie phenom Victor Wembanyama and the San Antonio Spurs on Thursday at Golden 1 Center.

Sabonis missed practice due to illness Wednesday as the Kings prepared for their first game since returning from the All-Star break. He is listed as doubtful for Thursday’s game against the Spurs.

Sabonis was on a roll going into the break. He has recorded 37 consecutive double-doubles dating back to Dec. 2 with six triple-doubles in the past nine games.

Wembanyama, a 7-foot-4 center from France, posted his second career triple-double with 27 points, 14 rebounds and 10 blocked shots in a win over the Toronto Raptors on Feb. 12.

This is the second of three meetings between the Kings (31-23) and Spurs (11-44) this season. The Kings handed the Spurs a 129-120 loss on Nov. 17 in San Antonio.

De’Aaron Fox had 43 points, eight rebounds and seven assists in that game. Sabonis posted 27 points, 14 rebounds and seven assists. Wembanyama had 27 points and nine rebounds, going 12 of 26 from the field and 2 of 8 from 3-point range.

Fox is averaging 26.8 points, 4.1 rebounds, 5.5 assists and 1.9 steals. He is shooting 46.4% from the field and 37.6% from 3-point range.

Fox confirmed on Tuesday he has been dealing with an unspecified right shoulder injury for some time. He described the injury as minor and said it is not believed to be serious enough to require an MRI.

Sabonis is averaging 20.1 points, 13.2 rebounds and 8.3 assists. He leads the league with 50 double-doubles and 18 triple-doubles.

Malik Monk, a leading Sixth Man of the Year candidate, is averaging 15.1 points and 5.3 assists. Keegan Murray (14.8 ppg), Harrison Barnes (12.2 ppg) and Kevin Huerter (10.8 ppg) are also scoring in double figures.
