Kirkland ranks No. 3 on Money Magazine’s list of 50 best places to live in US

Money Magazine has released its latest ranking of the 50 best places to live in the U.S., and Kirkland is one of just two Washington cities to make the list.

Kirkland earned the No. 3 spot on the list, landing just below Atlanta, Georgia and Tempe, Arizona in first and second place, respectively.

“It’s an honor that Kirkland has been recognized nationally for something that we all know to be true: Kirkland is such an amazing place to live,” said Deputy Mayor Jay Arnold in a statement. “Thank you to our wonderful residents and businesses who together contribute to Kirkland’s vibrant and belonging community.”

Money Magazine says it examines data in several different areas including cost of living, economic opportunity and quality of life to determine which cities make the list.

In its article, the magazine described Kirkland as a “family-friendly, community-focused town with great schools and employment opportunities.”

Kirkland’s waterfront location, parks and pedestrian-friendly downtown district were also highlighted in the magazine’s writeup.

The other Washington city to make the list? Camas, which earned the No. 32 spot on the list for its “strong schools, decent-paying jobs and a quaint downtown.”
