It was a sweet treat for kids at Kirn Middle School in Council Bluffs. That's especially true for Dale Anderson, who's back at school while still recovering from life-threatening burns he got over the summer. Back in May, Anderson suffered burns on 80 percent of his body. The 12-year-old said he and a friend were horsing around near a campfire. Anderson was airlifted to a Lincoln hospital and spent most of his summer receiving treatment. Doctors didn't know if Anderson would survive his injuries. Now, he's back at school. He has to balance homework and physical therapy, but teachers and students are taking the time to make sure Anderson knows he's not alone.
