KIRO 7 wins Regional Edward R. Murrow Award

KIRO 7 has won a Regional Edward R. Murrow Award, according to a media release from the Radio Television Digital News Association.

According to the RTDNA, The Murrow Awards are the embodiment of the values, principles and standards set forth by Edward R. Murrow, a journalism pioneer who set the standards for the highest quality of broadcast journalism.

KIRO 7 won for Gary Horcher’s investigative report on the use of fentanyl on public transit in Seattle, entitled “Smoking the Blues on the Bus.”

Of the awards given to journalists, the Murrow Awards are among the most respected journalism awards in the world.
