Kissimmee woman, 22, dies in Buenaventura Lakes crash; toddler survives

A 22-year-old woman died early Sunday in the Buenaventura Lakes neighborhood after the car she was riding in lost control and crashed, according to Florida Highway Patrol.

The unidentified woman was a passenger in a car that was headed south down Buenaventura Boulevard, near Wagon Circle, around midnight when it veered off a curved road and slammed into a tree on the side she was sitting, said FHP spokeswoman Lt. Kim Montes.

The woman died at the scene. The 22-year-old driver is in critical condition and a one-year-old boy survived the crash with minor injuries, Montes said.

The relationship between the driver and passengers was not immediately confirmed.

Everyone was wearing a seat belt. The crash remains under investigation.
