WARNING: Game of Thrones Season 8 spoilers ahead!

Unlike most of his Game of Thrones co-stars, Kit Harington did not read the scripts ahead of the Season 8 table read. So he didn't learn about the biggest twists in the final episodes-like Arya killing the Night King and Daenerys's evil turn-until he first sat down with the cast. The documentary Game of Thrones: The Last Watch, which aired tonight on HBO, showed a bit of that initial read-through with the show's biggest stars-and all of Harington's pure, incredible reactions.

Harington was perhaps most shocked after learning that his character, Jon Snow, kills Daenerys Targaryen (Emilia Clarke) in the finale. He put his hands in his hair, covered his mouth, pushed himself back in his chair, and shot a mournful look at Clarke while taking it all in. Emilia nodded back at him and lightened the mood by goofily slouching in her chair.

Viewers quickly picked up on their expressions on Twitter.

The documentary also shows Harington's reaction to Arya's surprise attack on the Night King during the Battle of Winterfell. Although he later admitted he was surprised by how the scene played out ("I thought it was gonna be me!" he told Entertainment Weekly), he applauded his co-star Maisie Williams, who plays the young assassin. Fans said he looked like a proud big brother cheering her on.

Emilia Clarke also had a bittersweet moment at the table read, sharing a loving look with Iain Glen when his character, Jorah Mormont, meets his end.
