Whimsical, pattern-punched, and unabashedly kooky-Kit Kemp’s interiors are distinctly her own. As the co-owner and creative director of Firmdale Hotels, Kemp invites guests into her world of wonder everyday. Now, in collaboration with Bergdorf Goodman, Kemp is extending her craft even further, with a pop-up shop in the iconic Fifth Avenue department store-from April until August. Head up to the store's seventh-floor loft space, where you’ll embark on an immersive journey through her creations, all designed within three vignettes-a bedroom, drawing room, and dining room.

“To see all the collections that we have designed in one space and how they work so well together is really a joy. I never realized how much we had done,” Kemp tells ED. “It is exciting, colorful and feels complete and very cheerful. It’s like working with a big family at Bergdorf.” Central to the pop-up is Kemp’s newest launch, Sailor’s Farewell-a collection of fine bone china in collaboration with the Wedgwood. Embroidered headboards, hand-painted furniture, bespoke lighting, and custom furnishings are layered throughout each space as well, showcasing Kemp’s wandering sense of creation that feels never-ending and complete all at once. In addition to Kemp’s own collections, found pieces and one-of-a-kind artworks are meticulously curated in each area of the loft, celebrating her love of textiles, sculpture, art, and homeware.

“With Bergdorf, it is an opportunity to have all my collaborations and designs in one place under one roof. It is the first time I have had the chance to do this, especially in such an iconic place,” Kemp says.

The pop-up is open from April 19th to August 12th. During that time, Bergdorf’s BG Restaurant is offering an English afternoon tea, served up on the new Sailor’s Farewell Wedgwood collection.
