Kitty Corner: Kittens, cats ready to be 'purr-fect' family addition

Sep. 7—While there are plenty of pups needing a loving home, there's a bountiful amount of cats and kittens just waiting in the wings to love on a new family.

Every Tuesday, The Banner participates in the Stephens County Humane Society's Take Out Tuesday, during which one loving dog gets to have an afternoon out to run and play outside the shelter. This week, The Banner took the opportunity to check in on a few cats needing a home.

The first kitten is sweet Siobhan. The 23-week-old sports a grey and white short hair fur coat and is very playful.

According to staff at the humane society, Siobhan's litter-mate was recently adopted and this little kitten just longs for someone to love her.

Another loving kitten, Shadow, aka Stormy, is 12 weeks old and showcases a grey short-haired fur coat.

One thing noticed about Shadow is she loves to cuddle and play.

According to the SCHS, this cuddly kitten was found as a stray and was brought to the humane society for responsible rehoming. Staff said Shadow has the prettiest green eyes, she has completed her shots and vaccinations and is ready for a new home.

The final cat we would love to feature is Nugget who is around a year old and is considered short hair kitten with a tabby and white coat.

According to the SCHS, this sweet and lovable boy is very friendly, talkative and cuddly.

Each one of these kittens and cats are available for immediate adoption at the SCHS.

With many ongoing adoption specials, Shadow's adoption fee is $25 and includes her microchip.

A normal adoption rate for cats is $75, but future pet owners are encouraged to ask about any special rates offered for kittens and cats who have been sponsored.

In other SCHS news, the next event coming soon is Bark in the Park on Sept. 23.
