While face masks are just a part of life right now, not all masks are created equal. In a perfect world, we’d all be wearing N95 respirators, which offer maximum protection. But, due to limited supplies, those should be reserved for healthcare workers and frontline responders. That’s why plenty of people have turned to KN95 masks.

These masks are the Chinese equivalent of N95 respirators—they’re just approved by the Chinese government instead of the U.S. government. Some KN95 masks have been granted an emergency use authorization (EUA) by the Food and Drug Administration during the pandemic, making them approved for use in the U.S.

Naturally, everyone wants these. So, when you can find them, you really want to load up. There are a ton of KN95 masks available online right now, and many aren’t authorized by the FDA. But, really, who has the time to look up every single one to see if they’ve been given the thumbs up by the FDA? Well, we did. These are the KN95 masks that are currently available at Amazon.

Want to stock up? Don’t wait—these masks are sure to go fast.

In case you want to look it up, Dr. Family’s KN95 masks are produced by the company Jinhua Jiadaifu Medical Supplies, which is on the EUA list. According to testing conducted by the National Institute for Occupational Safety and Health (NIOSH), these masks filter out more than 95 percent of airborne particles, which is on par with N95 masks.

Each mask has five layers of protection, including two layers of electrostatically charged melt-blown non-woven fabric to capture tiny particles that other materials can't filter. Ear loops and a metal nose bridge help you get a secure fit, while a cone shape is just right for easy breathing.

Reviewers rave about these masks. “Much better than the drugstore masks everyone is wearing,” one five-star reviewer wrote. “Maybe twice as thick maybe thicker.” Another said the masks are “a solid build with comfortable elastic straps and fit snugly,” adding, “I had a good seal all the way around.”

“This one is a good size, easy to breathe, comfortable fit. My new favorite mask,” a happy wearer remarked.

Amazon currently has the FDA-authorized WWDOLL KN95 masks in stock. These EUA masks have another added perk beyond that very important distinction: While most KN95 masks are white, stark, and devoid of style, the WWDOLL mask (wait for it) comes in basic black.

WWDOLL masks have five layers of protection: two layers of non-woven cloth, two layers of melt-blown fabric, and one layer of hot-air cotton. (The inner layer absorbs moisture from your breath, wicking it away from skin.)

The masks have a 3D design that accommodates the shape of your face for a snug fit. Elastic ear loops and a metal adjustable nose bridge help make sure your mouth, nose, and chin are well covered. The masks filter out 96.1 percent of particles, putting them on par with N95s.

People swear by the WWDOLLs in the reviews. “Sturdy construction, more quality appearance than other KN95 masks selling for less,” one five-star reviewer wrote, noting that it “looks great with professional uniforms.” Another likes “how tight fitting it is.”

The Guangzhou Nan Qi Xing KN95 has both an EUA and filters out more than 99 percent of airborne particles in testing conducted by the National Personal Protective Technology Laboratory (NPPTL). A subdivision of the CDC, the NPPTL is a department that’s testing personal protective equipment for effectiveness.

In a test of Guangzhou Nan Qi Xing KN95 masks, the NPPTL analyzed a sample size of 30 masks from the brand, for minimum and maximum filtration efficiency. It concluded that Guangzhou Nan Qi Xing KN95 masks filter out between 95.26 percent and 99.91 percent of particles. For the record, that range is extremely impressive—better even than the range of most N95 masks.

Lucky for everyone, a 10-pack of the masks is currently available on Amazon for just $18. These masks have five layers to protect you from airborne particles, a 3D structure to make breathing easy, and a nose strip for the perfect fit.

Reviewers say the fit is a big perk of these masks. “This mask from Nan Qi Xing seems to have the best overall ‘fit’ and it is the one I keep in my car so I have it available when I'm out,” a five-star reviewer wrote. Another called them “breathable” and “comfortable,” noting that they also prevent the dreaded glasses fog.

Recently, after researching effectiveness, the FDA removed its emergency use authorization for several manufacturers of KN95 masks. Powecom masks made it through the tests. They’re approved by the FDA and officially included on the FDA Emergency Use Authorization List. Like the others on the list, the Powecom KN95 mask is confirmed to filter out 95 percent of particles or more.

These masks features five layers of fabric to help protect you and your loved ones when you’re out and about. A metal nose bridge and elastic straps allow you to get that perfect fit.

“These are the best masks I've worn all year,” a five-star reviewer wrote. “Once they are on, you don't need to touch them to reposition.” Another raved about how the masks are “comfortable, don't get too hot and leave enough room so that you can talk and be understood.”
