What You Need to Know About Amazon Prime Day 2020

Amazon has officially announced that its Prime Day will take place this year on Oct. 13 and Oct. 14.

Typically held in July, Amazon Prime Day is Amazon’s 48-hour sale that’s exclusively for Amazon Prime Members. The company launched the initiative in 2015 as a way to get people to sign up for its insider program and boost sales in the middle of the year.

Prime Day in October will help shoppers score deals on holiday shopping. The sale gives members access to discounts on items across several categories including fashion and footwear, though the deals on technology tend to be the main attraction. According to a press release from the e-tailer, discounted brands will include Under Armour, Simple Joys by Carter’s, Adidas, Lacoste, Marvel and many more.

When is Amazon Prime Day?

Amazon will host its highly-anticipated Prime Date on Tuesday, Oct. 13 through Wednesday, Oct. 14. The later-than-usual date will allow shoppers to get deals ahead of the usual holiday shopping season. Prime Day will kick off at midnight P.T. on Oct. 13, allowing Prime members in the U.S., as well as countries across the globe including the U.K., Mexico Japan, Italy, Germany, France, U.A.E, Spain, Singapore, Luxembourg, Netherlands, Belgium, Austria, Australia, Canada and China.

For the first time this year, Prime members in Turkey and Brazil will be able to participate, too.

How do I take advantage of Prime Day deals?

In order to score perks on Amazon’s Prime Day, you will need to become an Amazon Prime member. Shoppers can sign up to become an Amazon Prime member by visit Amazon.com. Regular Amazon Prime membership plans cost $12.99 monthly and $119 annually. Discounted plans are available for students, too. (A student plan is $6.49 a month or $59 annually. Perspective prime members can also test out an account for free by signing up for a 30-day free trial on Amazon.com.

An Amazon Prime membership comes with several perks including free one-day delivery, rewards points and endless streaming on Amazon Prime TV. Plus, when Amazon Prime Day rolls around, members can instantly start shopping on the best deals of the year.

What Are the best Prime Day Deals 2020?

Prime Members will find great deals on a number of items starting Oct. 13, including on Amazon devices and home goods, as well as on footwear and fashion. This year, members can score deals and try out Amazon’s new Personal Shopper feature by Prime Wardrobe. The monthly styling service that selects curated recommendations for men and women from Amazon’s in-house team of stylists. The service will be available for Prime members starting Sept. 28.

Aside from deals, Amazon will focus on its commitment to small business vendors on its site. During this year’s Prime Day event, Amazon will offer Prime members a $10 credit on items sold by a select number of small businesses starting now through Oct. 12. The giant e-tailer will also spend more than $100 million on promos to help small businesses on Amazon increase their reach to new customers.
