Biggie’s close friend and manager release new Netflix documentary sharing rare behind-the-scenes footage and testimonials from friends and family.
RALPHIE AVERSA: Here's what you need to know about the new Biggie doc. "Biggie I Got a Story to Tell" celebrates the life of Christopher Wallace, known to millions of fans as the Notorious B.I.G. Our Rasha Ali chatted about the doc with its director, Emmett Malloy, Biggie's best friend, Damion "D-Roc" Butler, and his former manager, Wayne Barrow.
RASHA ALI: If there's one thing that you hope fans, people, anyone watching this movie take away from it, what would that be?
WAYNE BARROW: I feel that there's a difference between the nostalgia of Notorious B.I.G. and reality and life of Christopher Wallace.
DAMION BUTLER: We learned a lot of stuff as we was doing it. Like, it was a freestyle. But just having the right morals in life, and knowing the right things to do, as just being around the right people, always set you-- you know what I mean, will always have you on the right track, you know what I mean? So they're going to really see the struggle.
Because a lot of people didn't really see the work. A lot of people just see the glory.
EMMETT MALLOY: One thing that really stuck out to me is that he was a funny [BLEEPED]. And that wasn't a side of him that I knew prior. You know, and there was so many other things that I could get into about his talent and whatnot. But his sense of humor really jumped out to me.
