What to know as the Boone County Art Show returns for 63rd year this weekend

Among the true traditions on the mid-Missouri arts calendar, the 63rd Boone County Art Show will make its presence felt this weekend. A finely tuned collaboration between Central Bank of Boone County and the Columbia Art League, the exhibit will feature more than 200 pieces of art, according to a news release.

Held at the downtown branch of Central Bank of Boone County at Eighth and Broadway, the show runs from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. Saturday and 11 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. Sunday.

Professional and non-professional artists in nine categories will receive first-, second- and third-place awards; a People's Choice Award also will be bestowed, tallying audience votes gathered during the weekend.

Last year's People's Choice honor went to "Painted Ladies" by painter Rodney Burlingame; Jennifer Wax's fiber piece "Jardin Majorelle-Marrakesh, Morocco" received the Bank Purchase Award, becoming part of the bank's permanent collection.

As an unjuried show, exhibit submissions will be received and seen by the public in this weekend's display. To learn more about the show, visit the exhibit page on the Columbia Art League's website at https://columbiaartleague.org/boone-county-art-show-1.
