What to know about the Cardinals’ Week 7 depth chart

The Arizona Cardinals released their depth chart for Week 7 on Tuesday with a few changes. Some are from new additions and others are because of injuries and COVID-19.

The Cardinals have three players — linebacker Chandler Jones and defensive linemen Corey Peters and Zach Allen — on the COVID list currently, so their names are not reflected on the depth chart because they are not on the active roster.

With the trade for the veteran Zach Ertz, he immediately is the starter at tight end. Demetrius Harris is still listed at No. 2 and Darrell Daniels at No. 3, even though Daniels has been playing more than Harris when healthy.

With Rodney Hudson and Justin Murray on injured reserve, the Cardinals only have seven offensive linemen on the roster. Max Garcia is now the starting center, as he was a week ago.

Josh Miles is the backup at both tackle positions, while Sean Harlow is listed as the backup at left guard and center. No one is listed behind Josh Jones at right guard.

Phillips returned from injured reserve last week to play for the first time this season. He is not listed as a starter right now. He is behind Leki Fotu at the defensive tackle position.

With Corey Peters and Zach Allen both on the COVID list, the Cardinals only have five active defensive linemen on the roster.

J.J. Watt, Rashard Lawrence and Fotu are listed as the starters.

At inside linebacker, Jordan Hicks is still listed as a backup behind rookie Zaven Collins. However, Hicks starts and plays almost every single snap.

Collins has started four of the team’s six games, but he is most certainly a backup.

At cornerback, Robert Alford is listed ahead of rookie Marco Wilson, even though Wilson starts with Byron Murphy and Alford is the No. 3 cornerback.
