Beaver Countians will head to the polls Tuesday to cast ballots for their preferred candidates in dozens of key races – from the county’s board of commissioners and district attorney to school boards and district judges.

If you’re a first-time voter, or you’re voting at a polling place for the first time, you will be asked to show photo or non-photo identification. The Pennsylvania Department of State has a list of acceptable identification at www.vote.pa.gov. If you've voted at your polling place before, you don't need to show identification to vote.

Voters may line up at their polling place before 7 a.m., and anyone in line by 8 p.m. is legally permitted to vote regardless of what time they enter the voting booth. The busiest times of the day to vote are in the morning and evening.

If you believe voting rules have been violated at your polling place, alert the location’s judge of elections or the Beaver County Board of Elections at 724-770-4440.

If a poll worker determines you’re not eligible to vote by regular ballot, you may ask for a provisional ballot. This will be counted if officials determine you’re eligible to vote in person on Election Day.

All mail-in and absentee ballots must be received by the Beaver County elections office by 8 p.m. on Election Day – either via mail or in person at the Beaver County Courthouse 810 Third St. in Beaver.

Anyone who has not yet mailed their ballots is encouraged to deliver their ballot to the courthouse. Make sure the ballot has been properly filled out, dated and sealed, then return the ballot in person. If you have questions, call the Beaver County elections office at 724-770-4440.

The Beaver County Board of Elections will begin pre-canvassing absentee and mail-in ballots at 7 a.m. Tuesday.

All unofficial local results are expected to be available in the hours after polls close at beavercountypa.gov.
