What to know about Eric Scott Jr., Deuce Vaughn, the Dallas Cowboys’ sixth-round draft picks

The Dallas Cowboys selected Eric Scott with the first pick and Deuce Vaughn with the 35th pick in the sixth round in the 2023 NFL draft in Kansas City on Saturday

Here’s what you should know about the new Cowboy:

Name: Eric Scott Jr.

Position: Cornerback

School: Southern Miss

Background: The 6-foot-2, 202-pound cornerback finished his third season at Southern Miss where he had 27 tackles and two interceptions in 12 games in 2022. In 2021, he played in 12 games and recorded 20 tackles.

Attended Basehor-Linwood (Kansas) High School where he made 126 tackles and had nine interceptions over three seasons. He signed with Illinois State and played in four games as a redshirt freshman. He then transferred to Butler College in 2019 before transferring again to Southern Miss in 2020.

Name: Deuce Vaughn

Position: Running back

School: Kansas State

Background: The 5-foot-5 175-pound running back rushed for 1,558 yards and nine touchdowns in 2022 with the Wildcats and had 42 receptions for 378 yards and three touchdowns.

He also rushed for 1,404 yards in 2011 and 642 in 2020.

He will vie for the backup running back role to starter Tony Pollard.
