The PGA Tour is back at TPC Southwind for the FedEx-St. Jude Championship this week.

The tournament is different than the last few years, when it was the host for a World Golf Championships event from 2019-2021.

Here's what you need to know about this week's PGA Tour golf tournament in Memphis:

Who is in the field this year?

The top 125 players in the FedEx Cup standings are in this year's tournament, as this is the first tournament in the FedEx Cup playoffs.

That includes Scottie Scheffler, Rory McIlroy, Justin Thomas, Jon Rahm, Jordan Spieth, Collin Morikawa and more.

What's different this year?

Memphis' PGA Tour event has evolved over the years. Until 2018, it was a regular June stop on the tour schedule. It elevated to a World Golf Championships event from 2019-21, with limited fields and no cut.

Now, the FedEx-St. Jude Championship is the first tournament in the FedEx Cup playoffs. The field includes the top 125 on the FedEx Cup points list after Sunday's Wyndham Championship, the final regular-season event. The top 70 in FedEx Cup points will advance to next week's BMW Championship in Delaware.

The purse for this year's tournament is also larger. It's $15 million, up from $10.5 million. The winner of this weekend's tournament will earn $2.7 million.

What can you bring?

The PGA Tour has a set bag policy for each event. Personal bags must be 6 inches by 6 inches, and clear bags must be 12 inches by 6 inches by 12 inches. All the Tour's policies, including permitted food and the mobile device policy, can be found here.

What should I know about this year's PGA Tour season?

The biggest story of the golf season is the impact of the new LIV Golf Series.

Financed by Saudi Arabia's Private Investment Fund and publicly led by former major champion Greg Norman, LIV has recruited Dustin Johnson, Bryson DeChambeau, Phil Mickelson and other pros (including last year's tournament champion in Memphis, Abraham Ancer). LIV's draw is not only the reportedly large signing bonuses, but the large purses.

The PGA Tour has reacted by suspending Tour members that signed with LIV. Mickelson and DeChambeau are leading a group of players in an anti-trust lawsuit against the PGA Tour, and others withdrew from the tour altogether. Current PGA Tour players, including Billy Horschel and Will Zalatoris, have criticized their LIV colleagues for trying to double dip on both tours.

On the course, Scheffler has four wins – the most on Tour – including a win in April's Masters Tournament. British Open champion Cameron Smith has three wins, including last month's major title and a win at The Players Championship.

Keep an eye on Tom Kim, a 20-year-old quick riser who earned temporary PGA Tour membership via two top-10 finishes this summer. Kim won the Wyndham Championship on Sunday, giving him full tour membership and launching him into the top 40 in the FedEx Cup standings.
