What you need to know about Free Tuesdays at the Schiele Museum

Duke Energy has been sponsoring Free Tuesdays at the Schiele Museum since 2012, according to the museum’s spokeswoman Tiffani Stewart.

Last week, the museum announced that Duke has sponsored two more years of Free Tuesdays, with a few updates.

Here’s everything you need to know.

Business as usual

The basis of Free Tuesdays will stay the same.

Visitors who arrive to the museum between 4-8 p.m. on the second Tuesday of each month can enjoy the museum's indoor exhibits completely free of charge.

No reservations are required for Free Tuesdays.

What's new

On the afternoon of one Free Tuesday every quarter, "Power up Learning," will replace the free planetarium programs visitors enjoyed in 2023, according to a press release from the museum.

During Power up Learning events, "Schiele education staff will provide live interactive programming on a variety of topics," the release said.

These events will be open on a first-come, first-serve basis and tickets can be reserved one week in advance.

“We are very pleased to offer Free Tuesdays to the community, and grateful for a sponsorship that allows us to provide free admission to everyone each month,” said Dr. V. Ann Tippitt, executive director of The Schiele Museum.
