The Fern Room is a new bar.

This 70s-themed cocktail lounge, with fake plants and touches of orange that adorn the walls, serves specialty cocktails like the Brandy Alexander (cognac, crème de cacao and cream), along with organic wines and small snacks.

It's proving popular so far, with a five-star rating out of three reviews on Yelp.

Yelper Jarrad V., who reviewed it on Dec. 7, wrote, "This place has incredible decor. It's a 70s theme bar, so you'll see macrame and plants everywhere. They also make a Brandy Alexander, which I feel is so rare. I've tried that, which was really good, and the slushy drinks which will come in handy during the summer."

Linda V. added, "The theme extends to the cocktails and food offered as well, and the music is also of the same era. I for one absolutely love their dedication to the theme, and I also appreciate a themed bar in Tacoma that isn't a tiki bar or a sports bar—the atmosphere is great."

The new spot hasn't posted its hours online yet.
