Get to know the Greater Lansing high school football teams headed to the MHSAA playoffs

The dust has settled on the high school football regular season.

And after nine weeks of play, 20 teams from Greater Lansing have qualified for the Michigan High School Athletic Association state playoffs.

Each of the state qualifiers finished among the top 32 teams in their division in playoff points or the top 16 in 8-player. The area has 18 teams in the field for the 11-player playoffs and two qualifiers in 8-player

Lansing Catholic is the lone area team to make the field with a losing record. Three area teams that finished the regular season at 6-3 – CMAC champion Laingsburg, Lakewood and Stockbridge – didn’t make the field.

Here’s a look at each of the 20 area programs that will have an opportunity to compete for state championships starting this weekend. The pairings will be announced on Sunday evening.
