What you should know about No. 18 Indiana basketball vs. Rutgers, and Trayce Jackson-Davis

Indiana basketball is coming off its biggest regular-season win in years as it resumes Big Ten play when Rutgers visits.

The No. 18 Hoosiers (16-7, 7-5) beat visiting No. 1 Purdue 79-74 on Saturday behind Trayce Jackson-Davis' 25 points, 7 rebounds and 5 blocked shots. Jalen Hood-Schifino bounced back from a rough game with 16 points and 4 assists, and Trey Galloway added 11 points. The Hoosiers shot 52.6% from the field, including 4-of-10 3-pointers, and had just 8 turnovers.

Jackson-Davis is approaching 6th place in IU career scoring, 2 points behind Yogi Ferrell. He isn't far from Kent Benson for 3rd in career rebounds. He already holds the IU blocked shots record.

Rutgers (16-7, 8-4) has won 4 of its past 6 games, all the wins at home and the losses on the road. The Scarlet Knights beat Michigan State 61-55 on Saturday behind Paul Mulcahy's 17 points, and Clifford Omoryui's 15 points and 12 rebounds. In Big Ten play, Cam Spencer leads Rutgers with an 11.9-point scoring average, including 40.4% 3-point shooting. Omoryui averages 11.3 points, 9.7 rebounds and 2.2 blocked shots in those games, and Mulcahy 10.7 points and 4.9 assists.

Rutgers manhandled IU 63-48 in Piscataway, N.J., earlier this season. Miller Kopp led IU with 21 points and got virtually no help beyond Jackson-Davis (13 points, 10 rebounds). Caleb McConnell had 16 points and 10 rebounds for the Scarlet Knights.
