What to know about Johnny Weir, NBC broadcaster for US Figure Skating championships 2022 in Nashville

Johnny Weir will be an analyst for NBC's coverage with Tara Lipinski at the US Figure Skating Championships in Nashville through Sunday. Here's what to know about him:

Career accomplishments

Weir won three consecutive US Figure Skating Championships from 2004-06. In doing so, Weir became the first man to win three consecutive national championships since Brian Boitano won four straight from 1985-88.

Inspired a Will Ferrell movie

In the 2005-06 season, Weir's short program was based on The Swan, one typically performed by women. This would be the inspiration behind the 2007 movie "Blades of Glory" starring Will Ferrell.

Game show appearances

In 2019, Weir appeared on the Fox show "The Masked Singer." However, his time didn't last long, as he was eliminated in the first episode. A year later, he'd appear on "Dancing With The Stars" to more success. He was paired with professional dancer Britt Stewart, and finished ninth in the competition.
