The Akron Civic Theatre will host MasterChef Live, an interactive stage production that features head-to-head cooking demonstrations and challenges with past MasterChef & MasterChef Junior contestants, on Nov. 6.

The show's contestants include MasterChef Junior Season 6 Fan Favorite Mikey, MasterChef Junior Season 7 Contestant Malia, and MasterChef Season 9 Winner Gerron Hurt.

Each chef will be given three cooking challenges with surprises sprinkled throughout them. At the end of each challenge the participants will critique each other's dish.

Chef's can make grocery requests in each city that the tour stops in, but some ingredients are harder to source than others at local grocery stores. For example, Malia, 14, brought along her own yuzu juice after discovering that most stores outside of her hometown, Santa Clarita, California, don't carry it.

"The yuzu plant originates from Asia but you can't find the plant here," she said. "It almost tastes like an orange, a grapefruit, a lemon and a lime all mixed together."

Another ingredient that Malia plans to use at Saturday's show is black truffle.

Ticket prices are now on sale for $59, $49, $39 and $29. Tickets are available in-person at the Akron Civic Theatre box office or online on the venue's website or Ticketmaster.

VIP packages are also available for $125 and include a premium seat, meet-and-greet experience, signed show poster, photo opportunities and more.

"We tell hidden secrets that nobody knows, it's a little TV background and [MasterChef Live!] background" Malia said when asked about the meet-and-greets. "The audience will absolutely love this show."
