What you need to know about the Midwest Tour Father's Day race weekend at the Milwaukee Mile and how to watch

The Father’s Day 100 presented by Hunt Brothers Pizza will be the fourth race of 11 on the ARCA Midwest Tour schedule and the third since the series was brought back to the famed Milwaukee Mile at State Fair Park in West Allis.

Who’s racing?

In addition to the ARCA Midwest Tour super late models, the Upper Midwest Vintage Racing Series, Midwest Truck Series, and Mid-Am Racing Series are scheduled to compete, with all support division features set for 20 laps.

What’s the schedule?

Grandstand gates open at 9 a.m. Sunday. Practice is set to begin at 9:30 a.m. and qualifying at 11 a.m. with the first race, the Midwest Tour last-chance qualifier, set for 1 p.m.

The Midwest Tour autograph session is scheduled for 12:15 p.m. behind the grandstand.

Additionally there are optional practice sessions Saturday, alternating among divisions, from noon to 4 p.m. A section of the grandstand will be open.

How much do tickets cost?

Reserved seat tickets purchased on race day are $30. There’s a $5 dollar discount for purchasing in advance through the State Fair Park box office. General admission adult tickets are $25. Children aged 5-11 get in for $5, and admission for those 4 and under is free. Find more information at the event promoter’s website, trackenterprises.com.

Saturday admission is free.

Who are some drivers to watch?

Austin Nason of Roscoe, Illinois, won in 2019, when the series returned after a four-year hiatus, and finished third last year.

NASCAR Cup Series driver Erik Jones is driving for Wimmer Motorsports in the event. Jones won a 150-lap Midwest Tour race at the Mile in 2014 a day after missing his high school graduation.

Johnny Sauter, the 2016 NASCAR truck champion who lives in DeForest, won at the Mile in the Xfinity Series in 2005 and finished third behind his nephew Travis and Chase Elliott in the Midwest Tour in 2012.

Two-time ARCA Midwest Tour champion Casey Johnson of Edgerton won last month at Madison International Speedway and is tough everywhere.

Wausau native Luke Fenhaus, who won the season opener at Slinger Speedway, led last year at the Mile before being involved in a crash.

William Sawalich of Eden Prairie, Minnesota, is coming off a victory in the Southern Super Series in Montgomery, Alabama, his third win of the year, and is driving for Donnie Wilson, one of super late model racing’s most successful owners.
