Get to know OU football's senior class who will be honored vs. Oklahoma State

NORMAN — Saturday's Bedlam game (6:30 p.m., ABC) will mark the final OU home game for several prominent Sooners' football players.

Here's a look at the players who are listed as seniors on the roster, though several have the opportunity to return thanks to the extra season of eligibility given in 2020 due to the COVID-19 pandemic:

OU defensive back Justin Broiles has played in 54 games with 24 starts — including nine each of the last two seasons.

Justin Broiles, DB

The John Marshall product has played in 54 games with 24 starts — including nine each of the last two seasons — and has been a versatile member of the secondary especially the last two seasons.

C.J. Coldon, DB

In his only season in Norman, the Wyoming transfer has two interceptions with 24 tackles.

Robert Congel, OL

The Arizona transfer has played in eight games this season after playing in eight last year, starting six in 2021 at center. He’s added valuable dept at both center and guard.

*Jaden Davis, DB

The Fort Lauderdale, Fla., product has made a career-high nine starts this season, though he missed last week’s game at West Virginia. Davis has 10 pass breakups and 100 career tackles.

*Josh Ellison, DL

Ellison has played in all 10 games in a reserve role this season, though he started six games during his first two seasons in Norman. He has 41 tackles with 1.5 sacks during his career.

Kyle Ergenbright, OL

The walk-on reserve lineman, a former Christian Heritage standout, was a four-year starter at Northern Colorado before transferring to wrap up his playing career with the Sooners — the team he grew up rooting for.

*Eric Gray, RB

The Tennessee transfer has been terrific in his second season in Norman, rushing for 1,113 yards and is sixth nationally with 6.7 yards per carry. He has seven games with 100 or more rushing yards this season.

Justin Harrington, DB

After playing just the first four games last year before leaving the team, Harrington returned as a walk-on this season and has played in 10 games, both as a backup to DaShaun White at the cheetah position and on special teams. He has one interception and a pass break-up.

Jeffery Johnson, DL

The Tulane transfer has started five games and played in all 10 this year, with 17 tackles — two for loss.

Kasey Kelleher, LS

If the Sooners make a bowl and Kelleher plays in all three remaining games, the Peninsula, Ohio, native would tie the OU record for games played at 65. The record was set last season by Bryan Mead.

*Jordan Kelley, DL

Kelley made his first and only career start in the season opener. He has a career-high 12 tackles, including three tackles for loss and a sack this season. He also has a fumble recovery.

Jaden Knowles, RB

The walk-on running back, also known for his desire to be a weatherman in the future, played in 13 games last season with four carries for 37 yards.

Jonah Laulu, DL

After spending the last four seasons at Hawaii, Laulu transferred to Norman and has played in all 10 games with one start. He has 14 tackles, 2.5 for loss, with a sack.

*Wanya Morris, OL

After playing six games as a backup at left tackle a year ago, Morris has emerged as one of the Sooners’ top linemen this season. He’s started each of the last seven games at right tackle, protecting quarterback Dillon Gabriel’s blindside.

Trey Morrison, DB

The North Carolina transfer has played in all 10 games this season, with 27 tackles, three for loss, and a pass break-up.

Chris Murray, OL

Murray has started all 23 games over the last two seasons at right guard after serving as a backup in 2020 following his transfer from UCLA. He earned second-team All-Big 12 honors from The Associated Press a year ago.

Daniel Parker Jr., TE

In his lone season at OU after transferring from Missouri, Parker has four catches for 28 yards in nine games.

*Ryan Peoples, DB

The walk-on from Norman North has appeared in five career games, four in 2020 and this year’s season opener.

*Drake Stoops, WR

When he recorded a catch in the 2018 season opener, Stoops was believed to be the first true freshman walk-on to record a catch in a season opener. Since, he’s earned a scholarship and carved out a role on offense. The son of legendary OU coach Bob Stoops, Drake has started 15 games with 66 catches for 743 yards and six touchdowns.

*Marcus Stripling, DL

Stripling has played in 44 career games with two starts. This season, he has seven tackles, 0.5 for loss, in nine games as a backup defensive end.

Ty Taylor, DB

The Abilene Christian transfer has appeared in one game for the Sooners this season.

Bentavious Thompson, RB

Thompson hasn’t appeared in a game for the Sooners, but in three seasons at Central Florida, he had 1,136 yards and 13 touchdowns on the ground.

Michael Turk, P

Turk has been one of the most productive punters in Sooners history, averaging 48.2 yards per punt, with 32 inside the 20 and 34 of 50 or more yards.

*David Ugwoegbu, LB

Ugwoegbu has played in 47 games and started 19 — including all 10 this season — during his Sooners career. He has 186 career tackles and is No. 4 in tackles in the Big 12 this season.

*Brey Walker, OL

Walker has played in 38 career games, including all but one this season. He started two games at right guard in 2019.

DaShaun White, LB

White has played in 60 career games, starting 46 including all but one game he’s appeared in since the beginning of the 2019 season. He has 237 career tackles, including 18.5 for loss and 4.5 sacks.

Brayden Willis, TE

Willis has played in 55 career games with 22 starts. He’s started every game this season, with 25 catches for 347 yards and five touchdowns and nine carries for 24 yards — career highs in each of those categories.

Maureese Wren, DL

The transfer from Texas State, a walk-on, is the brother of former Sooners’ starting center Erick Wren.
