The Pacers have added three players at the NBA trade deadline: Jordan Nwora, Indianapolis native and former Pacer George Hill and Serge Ibaka, in addition to multiple second-round picks. Several hours after the trade was announced, The Athletic's Shams Charania reported the Pacers will waive Ibaka, which allows the big man to enter the open market.

Here's what to know about George Hill and Serge Ibaka:

George Hill is from Indianapolis

Hill attended Broad Ripple High School and blossomed into an NBA prospect at IUPUI. He averaged a state-leading 36.2 points as a senior at Broad Ripple in 2003-04, along with 7.5 rebounds and 2.7 steals, earning a spot on the Indiana All-Stars team. He was the Summit League player of the year for IUPUI in 2008, averaging 21.5 pounds, 6.8 rebounds and 4.3 assists.

Hill averaged 12.3 points, 3.9 assists and 3.7 assists in five seasons with the Pacers. He has appeared in 35 games, averaging 19.1 minutes, and 5.0 points per game this season.

The Pacers traded Kawhi Leonard for George Hill

Yes, the Pacers traded future Hall of Famer Kawhi Leonard for Hill. The Pacers, however, only drafted Leonard to complete the trade with San Antonio. While position-less basketball is popular now, Indiana already had Paul George and Danny Granger on the roster, it wasn't taking Leonard.

It should also be noted that the Pacers likely don't make the Eastern Conference finals in 2013 and '14 with Leonard instead of Hill. Hill had 4.0 win shares -- a single number that attempts to capture a player's complete contributions -- in 2011-12, 9.7 in '12-13 and 7.8 in '13-14. Leonard had 5.5 in 2011-12, 6.2 in '12-13 and 7.7 in '13-14.

The Bucks traded Hill, Nwora and Ibaka to clear salary cap space

To add Jae Crowder and his $10.1 million salary, the Bucks had to clear salary cap space. The Pacers were able to absorb Nwora ($2.8 million), Hill ($4 million) and Ibaka ($2.9 million) into their salary cap space. They will have to clear roster spots or waive the new players.

Serge Ibaka is a three-time All-Defensive Team member

Ibaka was a superstar earlier in his career making first team All-Defense in 2012, '13 and '14 for Oklahoma City. He led the NBA in blocks in 2011-12 (3.7) and 2012-13 (3.0) and averaged a career-high 15.1 points in 2013-14. Ibaka won an NBA title with Toronto in 2019.

He has appeared in 16 games this season, averaging 11.6 minutes per game, with 4.1 points and 2.8 rebounds, this season with the Bucks.

Ibaka comes from a big family

Born in the Republic of the Congo as the third youngest of 18 children. His parents both played for the Republic of the Congo's national teams. His mother died when Ibaka was 8 and his father was imprisoned during the Second Congo War.

Serge Ibaka is a well-rounded man

Ibaka speaks four languages: English, French, Lingala and Spanish. He's also a chef, doing a YouTube series called "How Hungry Are You," and was named to Vanity Fair's Best Dressed list in 2019.
