This day of remembrance is also observed as a federal holiday, which means many businesses and stores will be closed. So, if you were hoping to make a stop at your local post office to send a care package or a letter to a veteran, you may be interested to know whether post offices will be open on May 29.
Are post offices open on Memorial Day 2023?
For those of us who need to mail a last-minute package, our best bet is to do it well ahead of May 29. Memorial Day is a federally acknowledged holiday, meaning that all government run businesses, including the post offices, will be closed in observance of it. Because of this, mail will not be delivered on the last Monday in May. Other delivery services including FedEx, Amazon and DHL will also be closed on Memorial Day, though UPS will still offer Express Critical services and FedEx will continue offering Custom Critical services.
