What to know about registering for Appleton schools this fall, from immunizations to fees
APPLETON – It may feel like summer just started, but the Appleton Area School District has already opened registration for the 2023-24 school year.
The district is asking families to register and make online payments as soon as possible. Any available in-person registration sessions will be listed on your student’s school webpage.
Here’s how to access online registration, new student enrollment, fees and free and reduced lunch applications, according to the district website.
Register online, and do it sooner rather than later
Students must register annually for kindergarten through 12th grade. Appleton allows families to register online through Infinite Campus. Each household needs to complete only one registration.
To access online registration, log in to the Infinite Campus portal and select “More” on the left panel. Scroll down to “Online Registration.”
Make sure all students in your household are listed and marked as included on your application. If you have a new student who is a sibling of current students, you can add them while completing registration for the current students.
From there, you will make sure contact and student information is up to date. Click “Submit” to end the process and send the information to the district.
The district uses registration information to create bus schedules and assign teachers, so doing it sooner allows more time to address any individual needs.
What if my students are new to the district or coming back to the district after attending school outside of AASD?
All new students must complete the enrollment form, which can also be accessed online.
Families can’t enroll at school buildings, but they can visit the district’s Welcome Center at 2701 N. Oneida St. for help completing the online enrollment and registration forms.
Incoming 4K families that have enrolled have already completed registration. However, if you have additional children attending AASD, you will need to register them. Your 4K child will be listed in the registration form, so be sure to answer all questions about them, too.

What information will I need to enroll and/or register my child?
The forms will ask for demographic information, language information, emergency contact phone numbers, medical information and contact information for your child’s doctor and dentist.
After the forms have been submitted, you may be asked to provide a birth certificate and immunization records.
Interpreters are available for families who speak Hmong or Spanish
Families who need an interpreter to assist with online registration will need to make an appointment between July 24 and Aug. 4.

How much are student fees?
Fees vary depending on what grade your child is in. Fees for elementary school students are between $15 and $30, depending on whether they are full- or half-day.
Fees for middle and high school students range from $40 to $150, depending on activities, yearbooks and other materials. Fees for families with middle and high school students will be capped at $250.

The money is used to offset the cost of classroom supplies, texts and materials used by students throughout the school year, according to the district website.
Requests to waive student fees are addressed through the free and reduced lunch application.
Where can I apply for free and reduced lunch?
Families that feel their children qualify for free or reduced meals can complete the Meal Benefits Application through the Infinite Campus Parent Portal.
The application can be found on the center panel under “Meal Benefits.”
What about immunizations?
Wisconsin public school students are required to be fully immunized or have a signed waiver on file. There are additional requirements for students entering kindergarten and sixth grade.
Students who live in Outagamie County outside of the city of Appleton and need immunizations can schedule an appointment with their healthcare provider or Outagamie County Public Health before September.
