With the Titans clinching the top seed in the AFC, which means they get a week off before starting their playoff run, all eyes are on Henry.

The latest on Derrick Henry's return

Derrick Henry returned to practice on Jan. 5 after missing more than nine weeks.

On Monday, Tennessee Titans coach Mike Vrabel said the team would look at how Henry responded to reactionary work during practice before making a decision on his status for their playoff opener.

“I think for Derrick having not been out there, I think that there’s going to be some looks that he’s going to have to get in practice,” Vrabel said Monday. “We’re going to have to see how he responds to some cutting and some reactionary stuff. We’ll continue to look and see how he’s progressing and then we’ll make a decision.”

Why is Derrick Henry out?

Henry has been on the injured reserve list since Nov. 1 with a foot injury, which he suffered in Week 8 against the Indianapolis Colts on Oct. 31. Here's a timeline detailing Henry's foot injury during the game.

The Pro Bowler suffered a Jones fracture, a break at the base of the fifth metatarsal in the foot. This type of injury occurs when you twist your foot, which adds stress to the bone causing it to break. He underwent surgery on Nov. 2.

The estimated recovery time for a Jones fracture is six-to-eight weeks. Tuesday, Jan. 4, marked nine weeks since Henry's surgery.
