Netflix fans, get excited as The Umbrella Academy season four is on the way! Hooray.
We waited two whole years for season three after filming was postponed due to covid, but thankfully the Hargreeves siblings are back on our screens for the fourth and final time in 2024.

Season three of the Netflix adaptation followed the Hargreeves returning to The Umbrella Academy after escaping Doomsday, to find a different set of siblings called the Sparrow Academy living there. So, what will happen in season four?

When will The Umbrella Academy season 4 be released?

"NEWS," Netflix wrote on the 15th February 2024. "The final season of The Umbrella Academy arrives 8th August 2024!"

They later added, "Hello: February 15, 2019. Goodbye: August 8, 2024. Happy 5 years to The Umbrella Academy. The final season is on its way"

In an announcement to celebrate the birthday of the Hargreeves siblings, Netflix previously announced that The Umbrella Academy season four is coming in 2024!

This will sadly be the final season, but, good news is we don't have much longer to wait until our favourite, dysfunctional family is back on our screens. While we don't have an exact release date yet, watch this space for updates 👀.

When was The Umbrella Academy season 4 confirmed?

Netflix and showrunner Steve Blackman announced The Umbrella Academy season four back in August 2022. "So excited for one more season with the incredible Hargreeves siblings!!!" he wrote in an Instagram post.

And, via Digital Spy, he said: "I'm so excited that the incredibly loyal fans of The Umbrella Academy will be able to experience the fitting end to the Hargreeves siblings' journey we began five years ago.

"But before we get to that conclusion, we've got an amazing story ahead for season four, one that will have fans on the edge of their seats until the final minutes."

Who is in the cast of The Umbrella Academy season 4?

Now our prayers have been answered and another series has been given the green light, of course the entire Umbrella Academy just has to be in it. This includes:

• Luther (played by Tom Hopper)

• Diego (played by David Castañeda)

• Klaus (played by Robert Sheehan)

• Five (played by Aidan Gallagher)

• Viktor (played by Elliot Page)

Considering the family no longer have their superpowers, we have a strong inkling that we could see certain people drop off into the afterlife. This includes Allison, the third sibling (played by Emmy Raver-Lampman), whose future was left open. Will she be alive following at the end of season three?

Lila (played by Ritu Arya), and Ben (Justin H Min) are likely to be in it too. Luther's wife Sloane (played by Genesis Rodriguez) has also disappeared into thin air, so it's debatable if she will make an appearance.

As for The Sparrow Academy? We'll just have to wait and see if Justin Cornwell (Marcus), Justin H. Min (Ben), Britne Oldford (Fei), Jake Epstein (Alphonso), Genesis Rodriguez (Sloane) and Cazzie David (Jayme) show their faces.

What is the potential plot of The Umbrella Academy season 4?

The Umbrella Academy season four plot is still hush hush with no hints floating around, but our guess is that it will likely lead off from season three's finale. So, what are you waiting for? Go and watch it right now to have your own guesses at the next potential storyline.

There's no doubt the Hargreeves siblings will be challenged with saving the world once again. Newlywed Luther is also on a mission to find his wife Sloan who disappeared, so we expect this to unravel in season four.

In a teaser released in November 2023, the cast teased what fans could look forward to with the fourth season. While Elliot Page (Viktor) teased "excitement, surprises" and "humour", David Castañeda (Diego) said the new season is “still very, very wacky."

Emmy Raver-Lampman (Allison) added that it's "really, really packed with the classic Umbrella Academy family nonsense and shenanigans that you look forward to."

Tom Hopper (Luther) added that the siblings go through "the usual amount of mayhem,", while Justin H. Min (Ben) says it is “sexy. Sexy’s always one of my words so I’m going to continue to use it.' Robert Sheehan (Klaus) summed it all up as that fans should "expect nothing and you will gain everything.”
