What to know about voting early in Central Indiana ahead of the 2022 primary election

The polls are open! Early voting for Indiana's May 3 primary election is well underway.

Early voting in Indiana started April 5 and will end May 2.

While you have to get approved for absentee mail-in voting, anyone can vote early in person in Indiana.

You must present a valid photo ID issued by the state of Indiana or the federal government to vote in person. A list of acceptable photo identifications can be found at bit.ly/3xYuOsx.

Here's what to know about how, when and where to vote early:

Marion County

To vote early in Marion County, you can go to any one of the designated voting centers.

Indianapolis City-County Building, 200 E. Washington St.

Early voting hours on Monday through Friday are from 8 a.m. to 7 p.m. and from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. on Saturday and Sunday. The Indianapolis City-County Building is the only early voting center open on May 2. On May 2, early voting will end at noon.

The following sites all have the same hours. Vote early from 11 a.m. to 7 p.m. on Monday through Friday and 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Saturday and Sunday.

  • Indianapolis Public Library - Pike Branch, 6525 N. Zionsville Rd.

  • Decatur Township Government Center, 5410 S High School Road

  • Warren Township Government Center, 501 N. Post Rd.

  • Franklin Township Government Center, 6231 S. Arlington Avenue

  • St. Luke’s United Methodist Church, 100 W. 86th St.

  • MSD Lawrence Education & Community Center, 6501 Sunnyside Rd.

  • Thatcher Park Community Center, 4649 W. Vermont St.

  • Perry Township Government Center, 4925 Shelby St.

Education: Enrollment, teacher recruitment driving school referenda requests on primary ballots

Hamilton County

Any registered voter can vote early in-person in Hamilton County if they have ID.

There are early voting locations in Noblesville, Carmel, Fishers and Westfield.

The Judicial Center, 1 Hamilton County Square in Noblesville

Vote from 8 a.m. to 4:30 p. m. Monday through Friday and from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. on Saturday. The center is closed on Sunday.

The Judicial Center will also be open for early voting on Monday, May 2 from 8 a.m. to noon.

Hamilton County Fairgrounds, 2003 Pleasant St. in Noblesville

Vote early from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. Monday through Saturday. The location is not open for early voting on Sunday. Early voting will take place from 8 a.m. to noon on May 2.

Westfield City Hall, 130 Penn St.

Early voting hours for all Carmel, Westfield and Fishers locations are from 2 p.m. to 7 p.m. on Wednesday and Thursday and from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. Friday and Saturday. Early voting closes Saturday.

  • Mercy Road Church, 2381 Pointe Parkway, Carmel
