President Joe Biden is coming to Kansas City on Wednesday to promote the new federal infrastructure bill.

Here’s what we know so far about the logistics of his visit, and where to expect traffic. We’ll update this story with more details as they are available.

When does the president get here, and how long will he stay?

According to White House officials, President Biden will land at Kansas City International Airport around noon on Wednesday and will leave in the late afternoon.

Where is he going to be?

Officials said the president will be giving a speech at the Kansas City Area Transportation Authority at 1200 East 18th St.

Where is there going to be traffic?

Traffic between the airport and the area surrounding the transportation authority may be more intense on Wednesday afternoon. So allow more time to get where you’re going if you’re in the area.

“Traffic control and routing surrounding a presidential visit is a security issue,” said Maggie Green, spokesperson for the City of Kansas City. “Some motorists might encounter slight delays or detours as the motorcade drives through an area.”

Anything else?

While the president will be here on Wednesday to talk about roads, bridges and transit, Missouri’s Department of Transportation is having a meeting on Tuesday to hear from residents about what your priorities are when it comes to improving the state’s transportation systems.
