The Badger 40 on Saturday at Wilmot Raceway is the third and final stop for the World of Outlaws in Wisconsin this season, following doubleheaders at Beaver Dam Raceway on Father’s Day weekend and the Cedar Lake Speedway last weekend.

After losing the All Star Circuit of Champions/IRA Sprints combined event and the USAC sprint car race scheduled last month due to a rainout, this also is the first national-level event for the track in 2022.

The feature pays $10,000 to win.

Who are the drivers to watch?

Brad Sweet won at Wilmot for the first time last year, leading the final 17 laps. The Californian has won more in Wisconsin than any other state, with 11 of his 75 victories here.

Despite having just one feature victory, the three-time and defending champion Sweet sits atop the standings. Heading into a race Friday in West Burlington, Iowa, the top five were separated by 72 points.

Sheldon Haudenschild has won a season-high eight features, including a sweep at Beaver Dam. He started the week second in points.

Carson Macedo has six victories, second-most behind Haudenschild, and left Cedar Lake third in the standings.

David Gravel has won four times in six Outlaws races at Wilmot and finished fourth or better in each, including a runner-up in 2019. He is a two-time winner this season.

Jacob Allen and Brock Zearfoss split the Cedar Lake events. Allen’s on Friday was his second victory of the season. Zearfoss’ Saturday was his second Outlaws win, coming five years after his first, and his first as an Outlaws full-timer.

Ten-time Outlaws champion Donny Schatz has seven top-five finishes in nine starts at Wilmot and has never been out of the top 10, but he has just one victory: 2019.
