Hogan wins race for Ninth Circuit Court Judge of Knox County

Republican candidate Ken Hogan has won the race to become the Ninth Circuit Court Judge of Knox County, defeating the Democratic candidate David M. Hansen.

Hogan defeated Hansen by exactly 323 votes. Hogan won a total of 8,762 votes in Galesburg and Knox County. Hansen won a total of 8,439 votes in Galesburg and Knox County.

Hogan won 60.7% of the vote of Knox County with 5,163 votes, while Hansen received 39.3% of the vote of Knox County with 3,347 county votes. Hansen won 58.6% of the vote of Galesburg with 5,092 city votes, while Hogan took 41.4% of the vote of Galesburg with 3,599 city votes.

Erickson wins race for Knox County Clerk by over 6,000 votes

The Republican and incumbent candidate Scott G. Erickson has overwhelmingly won the race for Knox County Clerk and Recorder, defeating the Democratic candidate Tracy Thierry-Robertson.

Erickson won the race by exactly 6,828 votes. He won 12,081 votes in Galesburg and Knox County and Thierry-Robertson won 5,253 votes in Galesburg and Knox County.

Erickson won 80.67% of the vote of Knox County with 6,921 county votes, while Thierry-Robertson won 19.33% of the vote of Knox County with 1,658 county votes. Erickson won 58.94% of the vote of Galesburg with 5,160 city votes, while Thierry-Robertson won 41.06% of the vote of Galesburg with 3,595 votes.

Davis wins race for Knox County Treasurer

The Democratic and incumbent candidate Robin E. Davis has won the race for Knox County treasurer, narrowly defeating the Republican candidate Janet Windish by 349 votes.

Davis won a total of 8,809 votes in Galesburg and Knox County and Windish had a total of 8,460 votes.

Windish won 58% of the vote of Knox County with 4,951 votes, while Davis took 41.9% of the vote. Davis received 59.8% of the vote of Galesburg with 5,230 city votes, while Windish took 40.1% of the vote of Galesburg with 3,509 city votes.

Knox County Board District 1

Three candidates were elected to represent District 1 on the Knox County Board. Democratic candidate Cheryl L. Nache, Republican candidate Anthony R. Weiss and Democratic Candidate Amanda Smith were elected to the board.

The two other candidates in the race to represent District 1 —  Republican candidate Mary McGunnigal and Democratic candidate Darla Krejci — were not elected.

The vote totals are: Nache - 1,643, Weiss - 1,571, Smith - 1,569 votes, McGunnigal - 1,556 and Krejci - 1,424 votes.

Knox County Board District 2

Three candidates were elected to represent District 2 on the Knox County Board. Democratic candidate Greg “Chops” Bacon, Democratic candidate Erin I. Pugh and Republican candidate Robert “Bob” Bondi were elected to the board.

The three other candidates in the race to represent District 2 — Democratic candidate David L. Amor, Republican candidate Stephen Johnson and Republican candidate Brent A. Zhorne — were not elected.

The vote totals are: Bacon - 1,721, Pugh - 1,558, Bondi - 1,538, Amor - 1,357, Johnson - 1,340 and Zhorne 1,280 votes.

Knox County Board District 3

Three candidates were elected to represent District 3 on the Knox County Board. Democratic candidate Pamela Davidson, Democratic candidate Kimberly Thierry and Democratic candidate Samuel Cohen were elected to the board.

The two other candidates in the race to represent District 3 — the Republican candidates Samuel F. Larson and Dale A. Jacobs — were not elected.

The vote totals are: Davidson - 987, Thierry - 950, Cohen - 803, Larson - 739 and Jacobs - 737 votes.

Knox County Board District 4

Three candidates were elected to represent District 4 on the Knox County Board. Republican candidates Jared M. Hawkinson, Joshua E. Kramer andTodd Olinger were elected to the board.

The one other candidate in the race to represent District 4, Democratic candidate Pam Godsil, was not elected.

Hawkinson won 3,053 votes, Kramer 2,566 votes, Olinger 2,533 votes and Godsil 1,463 votes.

Knox County Board District 5

Three candidates were elected to represent District 5 on the Knox County Board. Republican candidates Rick Sandoval, Brian Friedrich and Patty Boone were elected to the board.

The one other candidate in the race, Democratic candidate Jale Secrist, was not elected.

Sandoval won 3,035 votes, Friedrich 2,277 votes, Boone 2,237 votes and Secrist 1,546 votes.

Benson and Cavanaugh to retain Ninth Circuit Court Judge seats

Heidi A. Benson and Raymond A. Cavanaugh will both retain their seats as Ninth Circuit Court Judge of Knox County. The two judges were not running against each other, the sole question was whether they should retain their present positions.

Benson won 13,804 "yes" votes in Galesburg and Knox County and 2,897 "no" votes in Galesburg and Knox County.

Cavanaugh won 13,148 "yes" votes in Galesburg and Knox County and 2,921 "no" votes in Galesburg and Knox County.
