Knox Ruritan Club installs 2023 officers

Knox Ruritan Club officers were installed Dec. 8 at their December meeting, the group's Christmas party. Knox Ruritan Club installed its 2023 officers during the group’s Dec. 8 meeting at Bethel Church in Beloit.

District Gov. John Biery performed the duty, installing Zane Ziegler as president; Dexter Sams, vice president; Mel Albrecht, secretary; Dennis Cameron, treasurer; Terry Blickensderfer, third-year director; Ted Benner, second-year director; Ron Bandy, first-year director; and Jim Ramsey, past president.

Albrecht announced the perfect attendance awards through June 2022, honoring Roy Johnson for three years; Aaron Hawk, four; Hayden Hawk four; Ramsey, four; Bill Blair, five; Ziegler, nine; Dexter Sams, 12; Ted Benner, 13; Dennis Cameron, 18; Loren Shaver, 19; Albrecht, 28; and Terry Blickensderfer, a Forever Ruritan and charter member, 48 years.

Information on the club’s 2022-2023 birthday calendar was passed out. Ramsey discussed the five gold Community Service Awards that were received at the Fall Convention.

During the meeting, members presented $175 donations to the North Georgetown and Homeworth fire departments.

Entertainment for the meeting was a Christmas cantata presentation by the Bethel Church UCC Music Ministry in the church sanctuary. After the presentation, the group had dessert.
