Knox Ruritan Club installs 2024 leadership

Knox Ruritan Club installed its officers and directors on Dec. 14, 2023, at Emmanuel Lutheran Church in North Georgetown. Knox Ruritan Club installed its new leadership during its December Christmas meeting on Dec. 14 at Emmanuel Lutheran Church in North Georgetown.

Class of 2023 wins college funds: Knox Ruritan Club awards three scholarships

During the club’s business meeting, donations of $175 each were made to the North Georgetown and Homeworth fire departments. North Georgetown Fire Chief Ed Reichenbach, who attended with his wife, Kathy. Homeworth Fire Chief Brian Baker; and Homeworth’s Assistant Fire Chief Troy Kinsere also were on hand.

The club honored those with perfect attendance through June. Awards went to Ron Bandy, one year; Roy Johnson, four years; Jim Ramsey, five; Bill Blair, six; Zane Ziegler, 10; Dexter Sams, 13; Ted Benner, 14; Dennis Cameron, 19; Loren Shaver, 20; Mel Albrecht, 29; and Terry Blickensderfer, 49.

Ziegler discussed the five gold Community Service awards and the Birthday Certificate the club received at the Fall Convention.

National Ruritan Club Director John Biery installed the local club’s incoming officers – Dexter Sams, president; Jim Ramsey, vice president; Mel Albrecht, secretary; Dennis Cameron, treasurer; Ted Benner, third-year director; Ron Bandy, second-year director; Roy Johnson, first-year director; and Zane Ziegler, past president.

Twenty-six members, their spouses and special guests attended the meeting, and enjoyed a meal served by Kathy Reichenbach and other ladies from the church.

Entertainment was a Christmas cantata presentation by the Bethel Church United Church of Christ music ministry in the church sanctuary.
